lizard squad was a black hat hacking relation,mainly known for their claims of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks primarily to disrupt gaming related services.

Distributed denial of service attacks :

A distributed denial of service attacks occurs in numerous system flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system, usually one or more web servers.such an attack is often the result of multiple systems (for example a botnet) flooding the targeted system with traffic.When a server is over loaded with connections,new connections can no longer be accepted.

Notable actions

1.League of legends DDoS

On August 18th,2014,servers of the game league of legends were taken of line with a DOS attack; This was claimed as Lizard squad’s first attack.

2.Xbox live DDoS

On December 1st,2014,Xbox live was apparently attacked by lizard squad:Users attempting to connect to use the service would be given the 80151909 error code.

3.Tor sybil attack

On december 26th,2014,A sybil attack involving more than 3000 relays was attempted against the tor network.Nodes with name beginning with” lizardNSA” began appearing,lizard squad claimed responsibility for this attack.

1.Wipro IT cyber attack:

Wipro has a multi layer security system , the company wrote.”The company has robust internal processes and system of advancing security technology in place to detect phishing attempts and protect it self from such attacks.We constantly monitor our entire infrastructure at heightened level of alertness to deal with any potential cyber treat”.

2.New cyber crime-Fighting dog

Infosecurity Magazine covered Quinn’s crime fighting abilities :

Unlike most sniffer dogs,who are taught to detect drugs,officer Quinn has been specially trained ti sniff at a particular chemical used in electronic devices like sim cards,cell phones and micro SD cards.

Its purpose is electronics detection,”said Quinn’s partner,cyber crimes detective Roy Howell.

LIZARD SQUAD HACKERS

“Hacker-for-hire”service launched distributed denial of service attacks against to web sites and phone bombed its victims.

The hacking group later claimed that the high profile attacks were a publicity stunt for their DDoS-for-hire service known as Lizard stresser.

Lizard squad was certainly not the first online gang to offer DDoS attacks as “cyber crime as a service”.There are plenty of other online criminals offering tools on under ground hacking forums.what made lizard squad different,however,was its audacity-both in its choice of targets and in its active use of social media to promote its activities.

Ironically,Lizard squad’s DDoS for hire service was it self later hacked,spilling the plane text details of its registered users and no doubt providing law enforcement agencies with a interesting collection of names.

LIZARD SQUAD RESPONSIBILITY ON LABOUR PARTY :

An infamous hacking group “Lizard Squad”claimed responsibility for recent cyber attack on the labour party.The hackers also warned that they are planning to launch a slew of such attacks,the independent reported.

Lizard Squad stated that is as used a DDoS to take down the party’s digital platforms.”Today’s DDoS attack on the labour party is to show that no terrorist supporting government should allow to rule a country.Our botnet is connected to millions of devices around the world to enable more power to process such attacks”.

The Fortinet real time attack map,it may not be the most exciting visually,but there are a couple of cool features that make it unique.The bottom left hand corner has easy to understand (and dramatic) cyber attack statistics,an if you look at the map you will see a day/night map is subtly overlayed on to the cyber attack map.So you can see where bad actors like to work after dark.

4.Sonic Wall live cyber attacks map :

A really good looking live cyber attack map is from Sonic Wall,which was pointed out by a secure world reader.We really like the easy to scan analytics at the bottom of the map which shows which countries are top attack targets right now and the average number of cyber attacks per site for the day,among other things.
